No issue next week, I'm off next week for Easter. (All my kiddos are coming home and guess who gets to cook for them.)
Attach Files in new Outlook
A classic Outlook user decided to give in to Microsoft’s insistence they try the new Outlook. When they wanted to add an attachment to an email, they noticed the Attach file menu suggests three older files and recently used files are not on the list.
New Outlook is somewhat slow to update the suggested files list. In my tests, you need to close the file before it shows up on the Files in new Outlook. This behavior is different from classic Outlook, where files are added to the Attach file list almost immediately after saving anywhere on the hard drive.
In addition, the suggested files are only in OneDrive, not files saved elsewhere on the computer. If you have more than one account in new Outlook, the file list shows files saved to OneDrive for the account the message is being sent From. Unlike classic Outlook, the file list is not per-computer, it’s by account. Plus it is only files in OneDrive, not recently used files anywhere on the computer.
New Outlook supports drag and drop to add attachments (which is how I attach most files to email messages). When you drag, two panels open on the message to drop it on. Drop it on the left to upload to OneDrive and send a link or on the right to send it as an attachment.
Finally, the suggested list is limited to three files. In classic Outlook, you can edit the registry to customize the number of files on the list, from zero to twenty. Instructions are at Edit Outlook’s Attach File list

Zoom in the Reading Pane in Outlook on Mac
A new Mac owner complained about the tiny text in Outlook email messages. When they use the browser's zoom, it makes the entire page larger, not just the message body.
On the Mac, in Outlook on the web and Outlook software (and in other applications that support zooming), press the Command key and click the + (plus sign) to zoom on a message and the – (minus sign) to zoom out.
You can also pinch and pull with two fingers on the touch pad to zoom just the message body.
Either way you do it, the zoom setting is persistent until you change it.
Auto Archiving in classic Outlook
An Outlook user is using auto archive to archive mail that is six months old but wondered why not all of the older mail is being archived, including some that is several years old.
If a lot of mail is not archiving, it could be because Auto Archive uses the last modified date field, not the created date field. Add that field to the view and see if it’s current. The other cause is the messages are marked Do not archive.
If the last modified date is recent, you need to set a registry key to force auto archive to use the received date.
