Goodbye OWA mobile app
We knew it was coming… the end of the OWA app for devices. The OWA app will be removed from the app stores this month and stop working on May 15. Users will be reminded of this when they use the app. After May 15, users will need to switch to the Outlook app or log into OWA using a browser on their mobile device.
The OWA app made it easy to view shared mailboxes. At this time, you can view shared calendars in the Outlook app, but access to shared mailboxes is not yet built into the app. Shared mailboxes can be opened in OWA in a browser. Shared mailboxes can also be opened as IMAP accounts in the native mail apps.
Exchange administrators who want to see which users may be using the OWA mobile app can use this cmdlet:
get-mobiledevice -OWAforDevices | fl UserDisplayName,DeviceType,DeviceUserAgent,FirstSyncTime

Coming to Outlook.com: IRM features
The second announcement from Microsoft applies to Office 365 consumer subscribers: Microsoft is adding some new capabilities to Office 365 to deter cybercrime. (These features were released to the business side previously.)
Outlook.com accounts will support limited IRM (Information Rights Management) features for email encryption and copy/forwarding prevention. With encryption enabled, recipients will receive a link to a trusted Office 365 webpage where they can choose to receive a one-time passcode or re-authenticate with a trusted provider before viewing the email. When users compose a message, they will be warned if the message contains sensitive information, such as social security numbers, and will suggest that you send it with encryption. You will be able to restrict forwarding or copying of messages.
Another new feature which many users will find useful is OneDrive’s Files Restore. This will allow users to restore their entire OneDrive to a previous point within the last 30 days. This will help to protect users from accidental deletions, file corruption, ransomware, etc. In addition, Office 365 can detect ransomware attacks and will help you restore the files to a point before they were compromised.
These features will be rolled out to users over the next several months.

Black and white Calendar in Outlook for Mac
Like Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac defaults to printing calendars in black and white. If you want to print colors, in the print dialog, click Show Details (lower left of the dialog). You’ll have a number of customizations to choose from and the last one on the page is to print in black and white. Untick the option and print.
Outlook for Mac Signature Spell check
A Mac user had a question about spellchecking email:
We use signatures to add prepared text to a message. When I edit the text, spell checking doesn’t work. How can we fix this?
The best solution would be to use stationery or another method to inset the text, not signatures… if only the Mac version supported stationery or autotext. Unfortunately, it doesn't.
You'll need to change the check spelling option manually for each message. Select the entire message then switch on the Options tab and click on Language. Click Do not check selling or grammar twice to remove the tick and spell check the entire email.
