When converting from wab to LDIF format using Outlook Express' csv export I ran into trouble with Turkish an Russian chars, the tool at https://outlookexpress-thunderbird.7xl.org works better in comparison.

I'm a non tech person who is trying to move my contacts from a mac Os 5.8 using entourage, to a new pc (windows 7 professional). neither Windows contacts nor yahoo seem to recognize the vcf i saved my contacts as. I do not want to re-enter everything if at all possible. thanks

The contacts were exported as a single vcf file? Can Entourage export to a CSV? That will be the easiest. If you have a gmail account, you can import it to gmail then export as CSV. Some of the utilities here - https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/contacts/import-vcards-in-bulk-into-outlook/ - will import a multi-card vcf too.
