Hi there ... I have VBA code that runs automatically whenever I receive a new E:Mail into my Outlook 2016 32-bit Inbox.

I've added some code that will scroll through every Folder & sub-Folder (of which I have very many) with the intention of hiding a Folder if it has NOT got new mail in it (basically, once a Send & Receive has finished, I want to see ONLY my Folders, that have unread Mail in them), but I can't see a way of doing it, I fully expected to be find a "Folder.Hide = True", or a "Folder.Show.False" option ... can this not be done ? It seems such a basic action !!!

    Hi,
I would like to receive a notification under WIN 10 & Outlook 2019 as it used to be under e.g. Win 7 with Outlook 2010. This small transparent window at the bottom right or left of the desktop.

I am aware that it probably won't work with board means, but is there maybe a small program that does such a thing?

I still don't understand why this - no matter why - was abolished (changed)....

    Kind Regards
    Markus

I use Outlook 2013 and I have 4 IMAP email accounts that I use regularly. Each week I manually export all my account folders to .pst files and back them up to both a local and remote hard drive. It takes a lot of time to do so.
Is there an add-in/tool that will perform those tasks automatically, on a defined schedule? Thank you.

There are backup utilities but they just copy the data file, which isn't really helpful with imap in outlook 2013 and 2016. I don't know of any that export. Sorry.

Is there an Outlook add-in which allows one to put a private comment into the message body, which can only be seen by the BCC'd recipient?

I seem to remember reading about such an add-in a while ago on some webpage, thinking "This is a great add-in, must remember to install it" -- but unfortunately, I forgot to bookmark the webpage!

I'm not aware of any that would do this - or a way to do it, short of resending the message only to the BCC. I have a macro that doesn't send attachments to cc'd recipients which could be tweaked to do this - i'd leave the copy open and add the note.

We are looking for a mail tool that will allow us to create a "Rule" to automatically copy a sent email meeting certain criteria to a file folder on our network server. This would create one location for everyone on the network to look for particular types of correspondence, e.g., requests for additional information. One central location for those that don't have easy access to the Sent folder of the sender.

Is there an add-in that will highlight the row background conditionally based on a sender? I know that Outlook 2013 will let you do font formatting conditionally, but I want messages from certain people to appear highlighted in the inbox.

No, because you don't see the BCC addresses, they are dropped at the SMTP server (that's why it's a Blind Carbon Copy)

Well, there are reporting tools, but you could do it with search folders or use VBA to count or export to Excel and process. For search folders, use 'received one day ago' 'received two days ago' etc as the folder terms.

Is there any application or add-in which would automatically forward all incoming messages to my private email address? This feature is delivered by Outlook itself(using rules) but it is prohibited on exchange server by our admin guy so the rules are not working. Thanks a lot.

You could use a macro - that will make it appear that the message was manually forwarded. However, it only works when Outlook is open.

Hi - is there an add-in or customization that could help me use Outlook for a small team 24/7 support solution? Key add-ins I need - automatic ticket creation and threading, ticket assignment to team members, color coding for different stages of resolutio - upto 5 stages, subsequent download of simple reports (like open dates and close dates and assigned to etc)

I want to create a Macro in outlook 2013. If I am attaching anything in email then a popup box should appear with the statement “You are attaching a file. Please check if XYZ field available in the file” Presse YES or NO. Also in the popup box should be one check box If I checked the button then a note should be include with the email.

Well, it is possible, but I don't have any macro samples that do this.

How do I get outlook to save a sent mail in two folders? Basically, when I send an email I would like a pop-up asking to which folder I would like it to save to and then save the sent message in that folder and also to save a copy in the sent items folder.

You'll need to use a macro (which you probably already knew :)). The code here - https://www.slipstick.com/developer/code-samples/use-a-macro-to-move-imap-account-sent-items/ - should get you halfway there. I'll see if i can find a better sample.

Here is a code sample - but it only saves one. Everything I've tried either saves the second copy as a draft or goes into an endless loop. If the second folder is any folder except sent items, you can do it easily.

        From http://www.outlookcode.com/d/code/setsavefolder.htm
Note, You need to select a folder in the same message store to use
        Set Item.SaveSentMessageFolder = objFolder

Private Sub Application_ItemSend(ByVal Item As Object, _
        Cancel As Boolean)
        Dim objNS As NameSpace
        Dim objFolder As MAPIFolder
        Set objNS = Application.GetNamespace("MAPI")
        Set objFolder = objNS.PickFolder
        If TypeName(objFolder) <> "Nothing" Then
        Set Item.SaveSentMessageFolder = objFolder
        End If
        Set objFolder = Nothing
        Set objNS = Nothing
        End Sub

In one company every time they write an e-mail (new, reply or forward) as soon as they put the cursor on the message area, it automatically appears the date and a number...
So they can track every message they send... I ask them how to do that, their answer was "Outlook do that"... so, no chances to go furder with them...
Do you know of any software, plug o add-in that can do something like that???

it's definitely an addin doing it, not outlook, but I don't recall any commercial addins. It's possible they are using a custom addin - it's not hard to do that type of thing with vba.

Did I miss a macro (amongst your hundreds of example) that would give me a 1-click way or keyboard shortcut to find all emails in a conversation?

I don't think I have one specifically for that. If you are using Outlook 2010 or 2013 and have conversations enabled to show mail from all folders, conversations will be together.

I have this unified inbox macro which could be tweaked to use the conversation or subject.

Outlook doesn't store anything in skydrive. What type of email account? If a POP3 account or pst, the default location is in My Documents\Outlook Files.

I have accounts setup that way now. Im not sure what you mean by Outlook.com data files. I thought i had it solved by changing my reply-to setting in Outlook.com seetings. But it work a few times and now buts the emails in the outlook outgoing (associated with my main emil address) and still have the sent from address of my outlook.com account. And the outgoing will not send them. it holds as pending.

I keep reading that 2003 should stay with default. The problem is for my contacts to sync with my BB Z10 i had to put them in the Outlook.com system. Therefore, when i go to email someone in my contacts the system wants to use the Outlook.com address instead of my default address. Is there any way i can force the default address or run Outlook.com system without the email?

In Tools, Email accounts, set your correct account as the default. Then set the Outlook.com data file as default.

I am running Outlook 2003. How do i "browse to the following registry subkey in Outlook 2010 (i'm using 2003) and add a DWORD named NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount:" or can i use one of the 2010 or 2013 program buttons in this section?

    thanks

That registry entry is for 2010 and up only - the key is necessary because Outlook behavior changed and the key changes the behavior back to the old way. 2003 should always use the default account for all new items.

I just connected to Outlook.com to link my contacts and calender to my Z10 blackberry. Now everything I email from the deck top is sent from the Outlook account regardless if I have my other account listed at top or as default.

Can i turn off the email part of the Outlook.com package and still get the snyc of the contacts and calenders. If so, how.

Set the outlook.com account as the default data file but set your "real" account as the default for email. If you only have one email account or only want to use one (Outlook 2007 default account behavior) you can set a registry key so outlook always uses the default email account. Default account registry key

my pop mail server pop.att.yahoo.com now yields a large number of polling errors when my Outlook 2007 tries to fetch my e-mail. This was not always true, but Yahoo says it's now a permanent headache with their pop servers.

Outlook stops polling when it gets a polling error. Do you have an add-in for Outlook that make a single polling failure less annoying?

No, I don't think we have any addin that can do that. What is the error? You can reduce network password dialog errors by lengthening the time between mail checks - Ctrl+Alt+S to open the dialog. We recommend setting it to at least 8 - 10 minutes.
