This issue is going to be short. I'm still trying to recover from two weeks away and catch up with clients. I'm gonna need another vacation. :)
Yahoo mail keeps re-syncing and reloading in Outlook for Mac
The big issue this week affects Outlook for Mac users. After a recent update, Yahoo accounts are re-syncing and reloading frequently. This began with the update to Outlook for Mac 16.73 and both Yahoo and AOL are affected. Changes made in Outlook or Yahoo are not syncing. Some users tried removing the account and adding it back as an IMAP account, but it constantly reloads too.
According to Microsoft, only Legacy Outlook is affected, and the solution is to switch to New Outlook but the new Outlook does not support dragging messages to folders in other accounts, which makes the New Outlook unacceptable to some users.
By default, Outlook for Mac adds Gmail and Yahoo accounts as Microsoft cloud Sync accounts. If you want to use an IMAP account instead, after you enter your address and Outlook finds the account, click Not [host] link in the upper right corner then select IMAP on the next screen. You'll need to slide the Sync with Microsoft cloud off (it's above the supported accounts buttons).
Outlook for Mac updates enables new Outlook.
Users are (rightfully) complaining that the latest Office updates switch Outlook to the new Outlook interface.
If your reason for using Legacy Outlook is for On My Computer support, you can now use On My Computer folders in Outlook and import the On My Computer folders from the legacy profile.
Enable the On My Computer folders in Outlook Settings (or Preferences). The option is under the General button. The option to import On My Computer folders from the legacy profile is on the File menu.
Switching back to legacy Outlook is easy: click on the Outlook app menu and click New Outlook. This is a toggle and switches the software back to the old version.
What happens when the mailbox is full?
I'm seeing a lot of users whose accounts were over quota asking when the mail that arrived while their account was over quota will be delivered.
Short answer: it was returned to sender. They will need to resend it. Your mail server does not hold the mail and deliver it when your mailbox is under quota.
Long answer: Mail sent within the last 24 – 72 hours might be delivered. Most servers will keep trying to send the mail. How long they will keep trying depends on the server. Anything older than 72 hours will need to be resent.
Reminder: If you purchased a subscription from Microsoft for more storage space , it is added to your account and activated immediately - if your mailbox and OneDrive did not grow, go into the Microsoft account and change the auto renew setting - turning it on or off. This will re-provision it and it should be expanded immediately.
Go here to switch auto renew settings - don't forget to change it back after the mailbox size increases.

You should be able to send and receive mail within minutes of getting under Microsoft storage quota. If more than 2 hours have passed, contact Outlook.com support.
If your storage space does not increase or you can't send mail two hours are getting under quota, you need to contact Outlook.com support. How to get support for Outlook.com
