ReliefJet Essentials for Outlook is a set of more than 160 tools for performing a wide range of tasks in Outlook: processing email messages, contacts, appointments, meetings, tasks and other Outlook items.
Today's Highlights:
- Change Outlook.com or Exchange mailbox name
- Delete All in the Outlook app or mobile browser
- Fine Print dialog in Office
Change Exchange mailbox display name
Prior to a recent update, users could change the default display name for Exchange accounts from the email address to a friendly name, using MFCMAPI.
I tried to change the mailbox display name using MFCMAPI. In the past, when I used MFCMAPI it worked, but after a recent update to Outlook 2016, it changes but when I close outlook and restart it, it reverts to the old name.
While using MFCMAPI to change the name wasn’t supported, it worked if you wanted to change the folder display name. As you noted, a recent update broke this.
However, not all is lost, as long as you can use a macro, you can still change the display name in the folder list. Using the macro to make the change appears to stick. See Rename Exchange Mailbox and Account in Outlook for the macro and instructions.

Delete All in the Outlook app or mobile browser
A couple of people wanted to know how to empty the Deleted Items folder on a mobile device.
I login into my Outlook.com account using Safari web browser on my iPad but I can't find a "Delete All" function to empty the Delete Items folder.
As they discovered, the options are limited on the mobile browsers and the option to empty deleted items is not available in the default browsers.
When you use the Outlook app (or the native mail app), you can select multiple items with a long tap on an item then select items and delete but if you are using Outlook on the web, you don’t have this option. You can’t select all items in a folder by tapping to the left of the folder name and are unable to right-click to show a context menu. Deleting folders from a mobile device is also difficult.
The solution is to use a different browser. Some browsers, such as Puffin (available for iOS and Android) provide an experience similar to a desktop, including a mouse cursor and right click menus.
Fine Print dialog in Office
Users are reporting (complaining) that a “Fine Print” dialog comes up asking them to accept the EULA when they restart an Office app after installing updates.
Some users are concerned that it’s a virus - it’s not. It’s a legitimate Office dialog, accidentally trigged by an update. If the dialog pops up, click the Accept button and move on.

Hide LinkedIn, Facebook, Google and other extra contact folders in Outlook.com
Many years ago Microsoft added a feature to Outlook.com that gave users the opportunity to link various online contact sources, such as Gmail, Facebook, Twitter and others with Outlook.com accounts. This created additional contact folders in the mailbox, one for each linked service. I'll show you how to hide them.
