With Office 365 now pushing Office 2016 upgrades out to business subscribers who are currently using Office 2013, some users are concerned that they will lose their customizations.
Our users are being prompted to install Office 2016 on their PCs. This appears to require uninstalling Office 2013. The question being asked is whether macros, templates, etc. are retained?
Yes, all customizations should be retained, although there is a chance the users will lose any shortcuts pinned to the Taskbar. The Outlook profiles will be migrated to Outlook 2016, the custom template and signatures paths do not change and will not be affected.
If, for some reason, you need to use the FixIt that completely uninstalls the Office applications, you will lose your Outlook profile and any other settings stored in the registry.
