ReliefJet Essentials for Outlook is a set of more than 160 tools for performing a wide range of tasks in Outlook: processing email messages, contacts, appointments, meetings, tasks and other Outlook items.
Today's Highlights
Calendar Time Scales
A user complained because his calendar looked messy - his appointments were varying lengths and appeared to be overlapping on his calendar, with the appointments appearing to be in the same time period.
The fix was easy: right-click on the time scale and choose a different time scale. If you use a time scale that is longer than the typical appointment length, your appointments may appear to overlap in the same time period.
You’ll see more overall hours on screen with the 60-minute scale and fewer hours using the 5-minute scale, but appointments may appear to overlap using the 60 minute scale.
Outlook on Windows desktop goes from a high of 60 minutes to as low as 5-minute periods. With the 60 min periods, you should see most of the day on screen. The 5-minute scale might have 4 hours visible at any time.
If there isn’t room for all 24 hours, Outlook will use your workday start time, displaying until midnight, adding hours in the morning if there is room.
Outlook on Mac divides an hour into 15- or 30-minutes blocks on the day or week calendar but supports showing from 4 to 24 hours on screen. The 4-hour option has the largest hourly blocks divided into 15-minute periods; the 24-hour scale has very small hourly blocks, divided into 30 min periods. Unlike Outlook for Windows, which has the time periods set to a specific height, Outlook on Mac client makes the periods smaller to squeeze your selected hours on screen. Like Outlook on Windows, if you are showing less than 24 hours, the display starts with your start working hour.
Outlook on the web is limited to 15- or 30-minute scale (your choice, in Settings > Calendar.)
Outlook.com Calendar subscription
Some users are reporting problems subscribing to calendars in their Outlook.com account. Users add the calendar using Add Calendar > Subscribe from web and it syncs the first time but never updates. Microsoft is investigating.
Only calendars subscribed in Outlook on the web are affected. Calendars subscribed to in Outlook desktop as Internet Calendars sync correctly. The advantage of adding the calendar to Outlook on the web instead of Outlook (assuming you have an Outlook.com or Office 365 mailbox), is that once added online, it syncs to all devices you open the mailbox on.
This bug is just a bug, not a sign the service is going away. Outlook has no plans to deprecate its support for .ics/ical calendars, holidays, and professional sports team schedules.
Files in Outlook on the web
Outlook on the web has a Files module, which contains a list of all email attachments you’ve sent and received. To remove attachments from this list, you need to delete the entire email message, from the folder it is in. You cannot delete messages or attachments from the Files module. You cannot delete attachments from messages in Outlook on the web. If you have Outlook desktop software, you can remove attachments from messages and the change will sync back to the server.
Some users discovered they have orphaned attachments – the email message is deleted but the files is still on the files list. If deleting a message does not remove the attachment from the list, there is no way for you to manually remove it. Check your OneDrive to verify it was not saved to OneDrive and search your mailbox for it, to confirm the message was deleted.

Older Outlook version on Windows 11?
I know some consumers (and some businesses) can't afford to upgrade with every new Office version and want to make their purchase last as long as possible. But there comes a time when you need to say "Enough. Time to bite the bullet and upgrade."

Search your Contacts using PowerShell
Use PowerShell to search for Contacts with a value in a default or custom Contact field. While you can do a more complicated search within Outlook, you will need to use PowerShell (or VBA) if you want to search for a value in a custom field.
