ReliefJet Essentials for Outlook is a set of more than 160 tools for performing a wide range of tasks in Outlook: processing email messages, contacts, appointments, meetings, tasks and other Outlook items.
Today's Highlights:
- Images in Contacts or Tasks are misaligned
- Outlook 365 Pin/Unpin Missing?
- Developer looking for testers!
- Disable Warning When Opening attachment
Images in Contacts or Tasks are misaligned
If you paste an image in the body of a Contact or Task, when you reopen the task the image will appear blank or misaligned.
According to Microsoft, this RTF bug was fixed in an update a couple of weeks ago. According to users, it is still a problem, however one user found a workaround that prevents the images from being messed up as we wait for a fix that actually works.
After you paste the image, right click on the image, then on Style button and choose a frame. If none of the frames are suitable, choose Format Picture (or use the Format Picture context ribbon) and add a shadow. Note: adding just a border does not work – the image will be blank of misaligned when you reopen the task; you need to use a shadow or pre-set style.
Outlook 365 Pin/Unpin Missing?
If you are using the Insider builds of Office 365 (now called Beta Channel), you may have noticed the option to Pin messages so they stay at the top of the message list.
This feature was temporarily disabled due to bugs and will be back sometime next year. I hope its soon, while I have a love-hate relationship with pinning, I miss not having my pins in Outlook and need to log into Outlook on the web to see them.
I love having the ability to pin, but pin too many messages and hate the clutter. I need to work on my self-control. :)
Developer looking for testers!
A developer is looking for some Outlook power users to give feedback.
What does the addin do? From the developer:
Finding the specific version of a document in email is frustrating. FoundFusion's new Microsoft Outlook Add-in indexes all your attachments and then automatically determines document similarity, history and relationships to provide a lineage of each document – regardless of file name, format, or location. It will save you time and frustration.

Disable Warning When Opening attachment
I've seen a lot of users asking how to disable the Opening Mail Attachment dialog that comes up when they open some email attachments and the "Always ask before opening" open is grayed out. They are having problems disabling the dialog for PDF files.
In most cases, you just need to restart Outlook using run as administrator then open the attachment and tick the box. It will set a registry key based on the choice you make – Open or Save. If that doesn't work, or you don't want to do it, you edit the registry.
Disabling the dialog for PDF files has been a problem for many users because they have more than one PDF application installed and the EditFlags value needs set for each application.
If you need more information, see Disable "Always ask before opening" Dialog
