New to Office 365 Exchange: Remove-CalendarEvents
I’m often asked how to change the organizer or remove meetings created by a user who is no longer with the company. Some meetings need to be kept, but will be managed by a different person, other meetings need to be deleted.
While changing the organizer is still a pipe-dream, administrators can now cancel all meetings using the Remove-CalendarEvents cmdlet. This cmdlet will remove the meeting from the calendars of meeting resources and attendees.
To cancel all future meetings as of Today, the syntax is
Remove-CalendarEvents -Identity alias@domain.com -CancelOrganizedMeetings
To cancel meeting within a date range, such as for someone who took a sudden leave of absence, you’d use the following cmdlet.
Remove-CalendarEvents -Identity alias@domain.com -CancelOrganizedMeetings -QueryStartDate 8-1-2017 -QueryWindowInDays 90
For more information, see Remove-CalendarEvents (TechNet)
Note: The Remove-CalendarEvents cmdlet is being rolled out to Office 365 tenants now and all tenants will have this capability by the end of August.
Update on the Outlook Updates
Updates to repair some of the issues introduced by the June 13 update were released this week, however the Outlook 2010 32-bit update was withdrawn as it crashed Outlook and needs to be redone.
The bugs fixed are:
1. Attachments whose file name includes an ellipsis (...) or an exclamation point (!) were blocked.
2. Messages sent as attachments whose subject ends with a blocked file extension, were blocked.
3. Opening attachments in an RTF-formatted email message, a contact, or a task resulted in an error message.

iCloud
Some users reported the APLZOD.dll with Outlook 2010, Outlook 2013, and Outlook 2016. Affected users should uninstall and reinstall iCloud to fix (after downloading a fresh copy of iCloud.
Outlook Search
The Windows update that fixed the broken search was released to Windows Updates this week.
Any users who set the PreventIndexingOutlook (at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE|SOFTWARE|Policies|MicrosoftWindows|Windows Search) can change the value back to 0 to re-enable Windows Search capabilities in Outlook.

Outlook Forms bug: fix coming
One of the (many) bugs introduced in the June 13 2017 update was the inability to open custom forms what had code behind them or used certain controls. This will be fixed in an upcoming update. This update will be pushed out to Insider Fast subscribers first (possibly as early as next Thursday), so if you need to test it and aren’t on Insider Fast, see Get Office Insider Builds for the steps needed to switch your subscription to Insider Fast.
Turn Off SMB1 on Windows Now
There is a new variant of Wannacrypt out and it’s recommended you turn SMB1 off on your Windows computers. To do this, open Control Panel, Program and Features, and select Turn Windows features on or off. Find SMB1.0/CIFS in the list and uncheck it.
For detailed steps and screenshots, see Turn Off SMB1 on Windows Now

What is SMB1? It’s ‘Server Message Block’ which is an older, inefficient protocol used for sharing files and devices. Newer software uses better, more efficient methods to communicate. For a technical description, see Server Message Block (Wikipedia)
