There are quite a few announcements coming out of Build 2016 conference, including the addition of Office Add-ins in Office for Mac. These are the new add-ins, formerly called apps, that are available in the Office store, and now will be available for Office for Mac end-users in the coming months.
Office 365 Connectors are another new feature, available only to Exchange online subscribers. They are used to deliver relevant content and updates from popular apps and services to Office 365 Groups. For example, I can use the Bing or Twitter connector to watch for keywords on the web or in Twitter. When the Bing connector finds a match, a message with links to the articles is placed in the group Inbox. The Twitter connector puts a message containing the tweets in the Inbox. There are more than 50 connectors available today, for services including Salesforce, Dynamics CRM Online, Wunderlist, Trello, Stack Overflow, GitHub, MailChimp, ZenDesk, and more.
