The methods listed on this page use web services to keep your data synced between multiple copies of Outlook and an internet service. In many cases, you also can view the data online from any computer.
Sync tools for Outlook are at Synchronizing Microsoft Outlook on two machines To sync between Exchange Public folders and mailboxes, see Synchronizing Exchange Mailboxes and Public Folders
Web storage services keep Outlook mail, contacts, calendar, tasks and notes synced with the server. (Not all services sync all types of Outlook items.) They can synchronize with your computer, so you can use it to keep updated no matter where in the world you are, as long as you have Internet access and a browser. Be sure to download the synchronization software for your service.
Not listed is Outlook.com. This uses the Outlook Connector (Outlook 2003-2010) or EAS (Outlook 2013) to sync calendar, contacts, and email between Outlook and the Outlook.com server with Outlook, Hotmail, Live, or MSN email addresses. Also available from Microsoft is Office 365. This is a hosted Exchange server account for your own domain name. See Hosted Exchange for a short list of some Hosted Exchange providers. These generally run about $10.00 a month, although some are as low as $5.
More Information
There are other online services that claim interactivity with Outlook, but all those that we've investigated use export/import, not real synchronization, which makes them potentially too difficult to manage. However, if you want to check out some other such services, see:

What tools do you recommend for sync between Outlook 2016 and data on a website in a MySQL database?
I'm not sure if there are any tools that sync to a mysql database - you'll need to write your own code to connect.
I have a question; Do you have to"initiate" the synchronization, I mean that doesn't happen automatically right?
It depends on what you are using for the sync tool and what you are syncing. In most cases, it should be automatic.
Hi Dian,
Lately I am getting all my contacts mixed up, therefore I thought I will put all contacts at hotmail and then sync then with the Google and phone and also my windows people software on the Surface I am using. The only thing I can't sync is with the contacts I have on Outlook 2013.
Please can you help me to sync outlook 2013 with Hotmail, contacts and also Calendar.
Thanks
Gayan
Did you set the account up in Outlook 2013 as an Outlook.com / EAS account? If so, do you have any sync errors in the sync issues folder?
I had exactly the same problem and as Diane suggested, Google drive was able to sync after I shut down Outlook.
Any news Diane?
What is the different between trying to sync the .pst files with Google drive (which I cannot) and syncing the Outlook Calender or Contacts with other programs like Sync2 ?
Thanks Diane,
It will be interesting and very helpful to understand.
Kind regards.
Ron.
Hi Dianne,
Lately I started to use the Google Drive. Every think works fine except of the .pst outlook files
While trying to sync my outlook .pst files an error comes up : "You do not have permission to sync this file. The file was uploaded successfully to my Google Drive but it cannot sync it.
I went to the properties of the file and changed the permission to "full control" but still it does not sync.
Any suggestion for me?
Thank you very much.
Ron.
I'll double check but it's probably because PST files are locked by Outlook when Outlook is open.
