Outlook 2016 has a link under Account Settings to Get the Outlook app for iPhone, iPad, Android, or Windows 10 Mobile. This link can be removed by editing the registry.
To remove the link, add the DWORD DisableOutlookMobileHyperlink to the registry.

This doesn't appear to work any longer. I have this registry value set and it's still plugging the mobile app at the top of most of my staff's Outlook 365, in a bar right below the ribbon. I have yet to find a way to make it go away completely, automatically, for everyone, but I suspect the key is with the same method as needed to make the annoying blue "tip" boxes stop showing as well. More info on that here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/186354/outlook-remove-blue-tip-boxes.html
I don't think this key ever worked for the bar - only the File > Info link (as in my screenshots).
Someone asked about it on a DL I'm on with support and support said they didn't know of a key that would display the infobar question - but it should only come up once.
thanks for this how to. Much appreciated. It worked great in Outlook 2019
Hello. I am using Outlook online ( https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/inbox)
and want to get rid of this annoying Outlook app link.
Trying to follow these instructions, but do NOT see the GENERAL after either key instructions?
How will I make this go away without the GENERAL option?
THANK YOU!
if you have outlook desktop installed, you should have the general key... but they are replacing the link with a button - so the key may not work much longer.
I am having the same problem too. I want to use Outlook online but can't get rid of this annoying outlook app link.
I also don't have GENERAL.
I don't have outlook desktop installed.
