I'm getting reports from users experiencing errors in Outlook 2010 referencing wwwlib.dll when opening some messages. Plain text messages are not affected, only HTML (and possibly RTF).
The cause of this error? Copying a signature created in older versions of Outlook.
The fix: if you don't want to recreate the signature from scratch, try opening the signature editor, select the signature and Save. This will cause Outlook 2010 to re-write the signature and may fix the problem.
If Outlook continues to crash or exhibits bad behavior, you'll need to recreate the signature from scratch.
Other symptoms attributed to a bad signature file:
- Outlook would not cache the email address the message is sent to.
- Messages aren't saved in drafts.
