One of the obstacles to trying a new e-mail program is the formidable task of converting old messages and address books to the new application's format. The pages listed below offer guides to conversion utilities and methods not just for Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Outlook, but lots of other e-mail programs, too, both for addresses and for mailboxes.
My thanks to Joseph Davidson for Interguru's E-mail Address Conversions page.
Methods
- Converting Messages
- Converting Addresses
- Synchronizing Microsoft Outlook with a PDA
- Importing to Microsoft Outlook
- Converting from Eudora to Microsoft Outlook
- Move from Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook on a new computer
Using Microsoft Outlook 2002, running under WinXP Media Center Edition, Version 2002 SP3: when trying to import .vcf file containing multiple events, the following error is presented in dialog box.
" vcalendar/iCalendar import failed. The input file may be corrupt. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid. "
Same error is thrown in each of two cases, when application that generated the .ics file is:
1) Rainlendar Lite 2.12.2
2) Windows Vista embedded Microsoft calendar.
Despite the error thrown, a few events are imported, along with their alarms, but many are missing, even after shutdown and restart of Outlook. Inspecting the .ics file with notepad.exe, I can see multiple events. Logged in with Administrative rights for import. Logged in with Administrative rights for export. Microsoft Outlook 2002 (Installed from CD in 2015) (with all Office updates applied). WinXP Media Center Edition, Version 2002 SP3 Installed in 2013) (with all updates applied).
Am trying to avoid investing in a newer version of Outlook, but would consider doing so, if that is what it takes to solve this problem.
Thanks in advance for any hints you have time to share!
Nick
To the best of my memory, you can't import multi-event icalendars in 2002. That feature was added later. If its a one time thing, you can convert it to CSV format, although I'm not sure how as neither Gmail nor outlook.com can export as CSV.
No, it just does not connect to the server in order to download messages.
I have a juno.com e-mail address; until about June 2013 I could download my juno e-mail into Outlook 2010. I've configured the settings per juno's directions (POP3/SMTP), but my e-mail will still not open in Outlook - any suggestions? Thank you
Do you get any send and receive error messages?
I have ACT 2010 and would like to convert the information into Outlook.
The easiest is exporting from ACT to a format Outlook can import , such as CSV or Excel.
