With Office 365 now pushing Office 2016 upgrades out to business subscribers who are currently using Office 2013, some users are concerned that they will lose their customizations.
Our users are being prompted to install Office 2016 on their PCs. This appears to require uninstalling Office 2013. The question being asked is whether macros, templates, etc. are retained?
Yes, all customizations should be retained, although there is a chance the users will lose any shortcuts pinned to the Taskbar. The Outlook profiles will be migrated to Outlook 2016, the custom template and signatures paths do not change and will not be affected.
If, for some reason, you need to use the FixIt that completely uninstalls the Office applications, you will lose your Outlook profile and any other settings stored in the registry.
Diane,
Where are the customization files (toolbar settings, etc.) stored for each Office 16 application? I am setting up a new laptop to take the place of an older one and wish to move those files to the new laptop so I do not need to customize the toolbar, ribbon, etc. again.
Since upgrading to windows 10 and Office 365, my documents in Outlook or Work either shrink to a very tiny (2 or 3) size font which is unreadable or starts exploding up to 200% and back and forth while i am keying information. It doesn't seem to matter which key I'm typing, it doesn't correspond to the Ctrl+ or Ctrl-, it just happens when I lay my hands on the keyboard and begin to type. It won't stay in the 100% mode even though I have set and reset it several times in each application. Any ideas how to stop this? About ready to launch this computer into the field out my back door! It just did it again while I am trying to type my email into the below space! UHG!
