When Out of Office is not working correctly, you may need to delete the Out of Office (OOF) rule from your mailbox. You can do this using MFCMAPI.
To Clear OOF Rule in the mailbox
You need to use an online profile. This will not work if you are using cached mode!
- Turn off OOF and close Outlook
- Use MFCMapi to log into the mailbox using Session > Logon menu then select your online profile. (Online Mode profile required)
- Select your mailbox name
- In the lower pane, look for PR_OOF_STATE in the Property Names (first) column. It's Value is True is Out of Office is enabled.
- Double click on your mailbox name.
- Expand Root Container, select Top of Information Store
- Right click Inbox folder and click Open Associated contents table
- Delete following items if they exist:
Note: You need to scroll to the right to see the Message Class column. You can sort by this column to group all of the rules messages together.
Column Property Property Name Message class IPM.Rule.Message 0x65EB001E Microsoft Exchange OOF Assistant 0x65EC001E Microsoft.Exchange.OOF.InternalSenders.Global Message class IPM.Note.Rules.OofTemplate.Microsoft Message class IPM.Rule.Message 0x65EB001E MSFT:TDX OOF Rules Message class IPM.Rule.Message 0x65EB001E Microsoft Exchange OOF Assistant 0x65EC001E Microsoft.Exchange.OOF. What if you are unable to delete the entries
Error:

Which version of Outlook are you using? Is it 32 or 64 bit?
Indeed, this really helped me out. Thanks Diane!
