It’s possible to configure Outlook to automatically compact the pst every time you close Outlook. This can be useful to users who deal with sensitive data and need to ensure messages can’t be recovered as compacting removes all traces of deleted messages, making it impossible to recover the mail.

Problem: When you right click on any of the folders that are listed down the left hand side in Outlook 2010 and choose Properties and then Home Page tab, the Home Page feature is disabled, preventing you from changing the address.

The home page setting is disabled in non-default data files “by design”, beginning with Outlook 2007. If you want to use a folder home page in other data files, you can configure a registry key to enable it.

When you use Microsoft Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013 and have multiple accounts delivered to different *.pst files, Outlook doesn’t use the default account set in Account settings. Instead, it uses the account associated with the mailbox or *.pst file the folder you are viewing is stored in. This change in behavior doesn't work well when an IMAP is configured to be the default email account and you have a POP3 account delivered to the default pst file.

This error often caused by add-ins installed by Norton security products, but if you have an Acer computer, the eDataSecurity add-in for Outlook may be the cause. Note that these two applications are the most well-known cause but other applications may cause it as well. Unloading the offending add-in will usually fix it, if not  

You can add photos (or logos) to contacts in Outlook 2003 and up. When you add the photo, it displays in the Business card layout and also in the business card view in Contacts. This can be disabled.
