Outlook clients for Windows 3.x and Macintosh are
included as part of Microsoft
Exchange Server 5.5 and are generally updated whenever
a new service pack is released. These are for Microsoft
Exchange Server integration only and do not include any
additional MAPI services, such as Internet Mail. A DOS
version of the Microsoft Exchange client is also on the
Exchange Server client CD.
Outlook Web Access is
another option for connecting computers running these
operating systems to Exchange Server.
Insight Connector is a Microsoft Outlook plug-in that allows native Outlook groupware capabilities without the need for an Exchange server. With Insight Connector installed, together with either the Bynari Insight Server, Cyrus IMAP or Courier IMAP, Outlook users can perform tasks typically available only when using the Exchange server. Some of the features include resource management, public folders sharing, appointments/tasks scheduling, voting, grouping, calendar sharing, multiple accounts under one profile and other collaborative tasks. Free trial available. Version 3.1.
Connects the Ximian Evolution PIM suite (which uses an interface very similar to Outlook) to Exchange 2000. Does not support the Notes or Journal folders, out-of-office messages, public folders, or delegation. Included in the SUSE LINUX Professional 9.3 package from Novell.
