We're seeing a resurgence of complaints from
users with new computers who are trying to use
OWA. They can read email but can't reply or
forward because the message body has a red x in
it.
This is a really old problem that should have
been addressed years ago by the administrator.
The problem occurs because the dhtml text editor
control used by OWA is not supported in Vista
/Windows 7 and the Exchange administrators aren't
patching the servers in a timely manner. There is
a hotfix the administrator needs install on the
Exchange server that will fix this problem. The
hotfix installs a new editor for Internet
Explorer which uses an iframe instead of an
ActiveX control.

hotfixes for Exchange 2000 and 2003, see

As many beta users have discovered, Outlook 2010
sometimes creates huge messages. This is a bug
and is usually only a problem when using bulleted
and numbered lists.
While using plain text format will solve the
problem, formatted text is usually easier to
read, especially when using bulleted lists.
Restarting Outlook occasionally will help to
reduce the message sizes. Turning off Use
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for appearance of
messages under Outlook Options, Mail, Message
Formats may also help.
Like other annoying bugs, this is "fixed in a
later build".
I’ve had a few questions about Outlook 2003 on
Windows 7 that result in an Agent error: “The
Office Assistant requires Microsoft Agent 2.0 or
later versions. This product is available in the
Office System Pack.”
Since Agent is not included in Windows 7, anyone
who tries to use the Office Assistant will
receive this error. The solution is to not use
the Office Assistant.
Microsoft has released a hotfix which provides
support for Merlin in Windows 7:
Microsoft Agent-enabled programs may not work in
Windows 7

Ctrl + click on your Outlook shortcut or type
outlook.exe /safe into the Start search field or

off, but listed in the Add-In Manager. Outlook

I have a new poll up at slipstick.com. This month
I’m interested in knowing how many email accounts
are in your main Outlook profile. Early responses
have surprising number of people with more than
10 accounts in their profile.
