OWA: Save Messages to My Documents
A user asked: "How do I save a message to My Documents when using OWA?"
Since OWA doesn't have a Save Message command, you need to use your browsers
Save as command and save the message in HTML, MHT, or Text format.
- Click the Print button.
- If you have a PDF or other electronic document printer installed, you could use print the message, otherwise cancel the print.
- If using Internet Explorer, press Alt to display the browser Menu bar and
choose File, Save as.
Outlook 2010: Activities or the Social Connector?
Outlook 2010 has a new feature, the Social Connector, that displays messages and other content associated with the people the message was sent from or to at the end of the message window. The people pane displays email, appointments, attachments, and SharePoint 2010 feeds. Eventually, Facebook, Twitter and other feeds will be pulled into the people pane and stored in a News Feed folder in your mailbox.
The People pane shows much of the same information you'll see on Contact's Activities page, although the People Pane is doesn't include all Outlook item types. It does include attachments and finds content associated with any address in the To or From field in your mailbox, a saved Contact for the person is not required. Unlike Activities, the results displayed in the People pane include items found in all folders in your profile. I find the people pane very useful. My only complaint: I can't delete messages from the People Pane. Even without the social aspect (news feeds), the People pane should be useful to most users.
While Activities are still supported on Contacts, the folders that are searched is not customizable: the Activity tab found on Contact folder's property dialog was removed from Outlook 2010. In addition, the Activities button was removed from shared contacts.
Reproducing News Feed Folders
We’re seeing a lot of complaints about News Feed folders reproducing like rabbits in Outlook 2010’s folder list. This folder is used by the social connector but to date, the news feed in the People Pane only works with SharePoint 2010. However, there is a bug in the current beta build and users with only an Outlook Connector account in their profile have multiple News Feed folders.
OutlookSyncClient Error
We're seeing reports of another iPhone bug, this time with the OutlookSyncClient. Users report recurring error messages, often containing nothing but "Error".
