Greetings! Welcome to Vol. 6, No. 15, of Exchange Messaging
Outlook, a biweekly newsletter about Microsoft Exchange and
Microsoft Outlook.
New IE updates protect against malicious HTML messages
Regular EMO readers have seen this admonition often: To protect
Outlook against viruses that may lurk in HTML-format messages, you
must keep Internet Explorer updated with the latest security
patches. Microsoft has issued a new patch for Internet Explorer 6.0
and 5.5 Service Pack 2 that takes care of all known security
vulnerabilities in those versions. For more information and a link
to the download, visit
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS01-055.asp.
Upcoming events
Microsoft regularly holds live webcasts and chats on Outlook,
Exchange and other Microsoft products. Mark your calendars for these
in December. (You may need to fix the hyperlinks if they break
across lines.)

Team Folders Kit whereabouts
The last few issues of EMO have reported on the whereabouts of
the Team Folders Kit. Since it keeps coming and going, we're going
to simply refer you to our Team Folders page at
http://www.slipstick.com/dev/teamfolders.htm and keep that page
updated with the TF kit availability information.
Teach Yourself Outlook Programming
We get several messages each week looking for places to buy my
Teach Yourself Microsoft Outlook 2000 Programming in 24 Hours book.
This book, which has sold nearly 8,000 copies, has been out of print
since this summer. We are working to make it available again in
electronic format early in 2002, with updates for Outlook 2002.
Until then, check the book's Amazon.com page at
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/067231651X/cdolivthepremier/.
Occasionally, used copies come up for sale. And if you see a copy in
an out-of-the-way bookstore, grab it! You'll definitely be able to
sell it to someone else looking for a book to help them get started
with Outlook programming.
If you can't wait, see
http://www.slipstick.com/books/dev.htm for other
recommendations.
