Why does Outlook put some holidays on the wrong date?

It's a bug in all versions of Outlook 97 before the Office 97 Service Release 1 Enterprise Update. The problem is in the Outlook.txt file used to import holidays. You can either edit this file yourself, or download the fixed version from SR-1 from http://www.superlink.net/~vince/oltxt.zip. See How to Customize Outlook Calendar Holidays.

Memorial Day Date Fix Sample Form

Administrators looking for a way to fix an incorrect holiday throughout the organization may want to download the Memorial Day Date Fix Sample Form. This file contains a Memorial Day Correction.oft Outlook template file. Publish it to your Organization Forms library, then run the form and send the message to everyone who needs to change the date. The Read page of the form shows both your instructions (in the message box) and a Fix Memorial Day button. When the user clicks this button, the Memorial Day holiday is moved from May 24 to May 31. This form was designed for fixing the U.S. Memorial Day holiday in 1999, but the code can be adapted to fix any holiday.

If you need to send the form to people outside your organization, make sure that both the message and the recipient addresses are set for rich-text format. Your instructions should tell recipients that they'll need to choose Enable Macros when they open the message. Otherwise, the Fix Memorial Day button won't do anything.
