Microsoft Outlook 98 seems to know about national holidays only
in the English-speaking world and about some religious holidays.
You can add holidays to your Calendar folder by following these
steps:
- Choosing Tools | Options, then click Calendar
Options.
- On the Calendar Options dialog box, click Add
Holidays.
- In the Add Holidays to Calendar dialog box,
check the countries or religions whose holidays you want to add,
then click OK.
If you want to import holidays from any other country or religion
other than those listed below, you can modify the Outlook.txt file,
as described in the workaround.

The
holiday list is contained in a file named Outlook.hol in Outlook
2002 or Outlook.txt in earlier versions, found in the
language specific subfolders of the Office folder. Try opening its Outlook.txt file in Notepad,
correcting inaccurate dates and adding new ones (such as company
events) that you want to include. You can also download a fixed copy
of the Office 97 SR-1 Outlook.txt file from http://www.superlink.net/~vince/oltxt.zip.
Once you have a good, up-to-date Outlook.txt file, give a copy to
everyone else in your office who needs to import holidays.
For other sources of holidays, see
Calendar Tools - Dates.
